Boundary Loop Weight for Boolean modifier.

For a non-destructive modeling process, an option would be useful to give weight to the boundary loop. The blender itself has a "Select Boundary Loop" function, this function could act as edge groups for the Boolean modifier.

Ideally, there would be proper "edge groups" in mesh data, just like vertex groups. (and face groups, too) The boolean modifier could assign the newly created boundary edges to an edge group and then that data could be used by anything that wants edge groups. Bevels, but also edge split modifiers, wireframe modifier, etc....

I agree. I think the lack of proper edge and face groups are the biggest missing feature in Blender.

Agreed that best would be to have real edge groups, and have the Boolean modifier capable of setting the intersection edges to be in a user-defined group. I can see that setting the bevel edge weight of those edges could be a hacky way of simulating an edge group, but seems awkward to use other than by addons.
