Allow users to cancel actions if they take longer than 5secs to perform
I'm thinking of some kind of popup or so. This could prevent situations were you accidentally slide on the inputs of a performance hungry modifier and let blender crash

Also unifying tools so we CAN actually cancel... like Extrude for example.... you can "cancel" it, but not really. I was looking at the c++ code, and I think I see why... they are just running 2 operators/macros in a row, for a chunk of things. So it runs Extrude and THEN translate those new faces. So you can't actually cancel the entire process.
ot = WM_operatortype_append_macro("MESH_OT_extrude_region_move", "Extrude Region and Move", "Extrude region and move result", OPTYPE_UNDO | OPTYPE_REGISTER); otmacro = WM_operatortype_macro_define(ot, "MESH_OT_extrude_region"); otmacro = WM_operatortype_macro_define(ot, "TRANSFORM_OT_translate"); RNA_boolean_set(otmacro->ptr, "use_proportional_edit", false); RNA_boolean_set(otmacro->ptr, "mirror", false);
it can be even better and we could have a status bar
I'm thinking that a "command + period" key combo would be intuitive.
Why ? It's doesn't to me. Not even sure what "command" is.
How would the user perform this cancel operation?
Some softwares just use the <kbd>Esc</kbd> key.
* @-L0Lock- * That probably makes the most amount of sense. Blender's already doing that for a number of operations already.
