Color ramp to have texture input

As the title says, every other 3D software that I know have this functionality and I think it's not difficult for the coders to put together. It would REALLLLLLY help NPR productions...! Like in Maya u can input every parameter that have those little checkboard icons beside de parameter's name : youtube.com/watch This way, each color created in the color ramp can have an unique texture assigned to it.

You can put a texture into a colour ramp.

* @Craig Jones * I see but the individual colors in my example can be input each one with a different colored texture.

* @Craig Jones * The idea is to have each color we add in the color ramp to have it's own input for texture. I didn't find a specific video for that, but I'm capable of doing that in Maya.

* @gsfinardi * That's pretty easy to set up in a node group and reuse.

It's not sufficient to post a link to a video in another application. You really need to provide examples of how you would envision this working within Blender's node system. Mock-ups and images of what the result you want to achieve would be most useful.

This isn't possible, it's a known difficulty. But it's possible to create a node-based solution using a lot of math/remap nodes.
