User Interface Can I have shift+mousewheel scroll back please?

Hi, I'm an old user, been using Blender since it first appeared, and have been constantly amazed by the awesome features that have been added over the years. Wish I could help with the development, but I am firstly an artist, and only took to 3D modelling, to express my art, so the user interface is super important to me. And I am daily grateful for all the coding that goes into this, so I can use this as well as I can type. (I'm a big hot key user.) But what goes on behind those buttons and hot keys is an absolute mystery to me.

So getting to the point...

I often zoomed into my model, and used the shift then rolled mouse wheel, which would pan me up and down. Very useful.

But this feature disappeared, can we have it back please?

(just adding some screenies, so you can see what I am doing with your awesome software).

The solution you need is simple, those hotkeys can be restored!

Open Preferences window, go to Keymap - 3D View - 3D View (Global) , and scroll down until you see the Add New button. Press it, expand the new none row and type " view3d.view_pan " into Identifier field. After you press Enter, the additional field Pan: will appear, where you can choose from four Pan directions : Left, Right, Up, Down. Then change the Type of event mapping from Keyboard to Mouse , tick Shift or Ctrl and choose Type of event : Wheel Up or Wheel Down as appropriate. * Repeat this for other keys and reverse directions if needed. *

Here's screenshot, how those hotkeys was set on older Blender v2.79: Image

P.S. Looks like it disappeared with v2.80, but I don't know - why. I've heard there was a fine zoom option when holding Shift (as opposed to default "jumpy" zoom) for which those hotkeys could be reserved, but I don't see that implemented on any versions.
