Workbench random color per collection
Random colors to separate collections visually in viewport.
Also separate by object, where GP-layers and objects in collection instances are not separated.

I would use this to colorize wireframes too. I mean if you in solid view mode, you see colorized mesh with white(or other theme color) wireframes on it, but if you switch to wireframe view mode, wires will be colorized instead polygons.
I would also include instances, although I would keep the same color for each instance of the same collection.
@Eric: agreed !
What in case where object belongs to multiple collections?
@Pawel Piotrowski: Good question, I thought about it. I think, in this case, if it just shows one of them, it's not so perfect, but acceptable
@Pawel Piotrowski: a checkerboard texture of multiple colors?
agreed too!
Agreed!
Cool idea ! I was just about to write an idea on the same subject. But I thought to add the possibility of overwrite a color on an object, if necessary on object and change wireframe color, just like 3DSmax
@anthony.guiziou: For colored wireframes like this post
