Quads, N-Gons(BMesh), and Hole-Gons.
Many years ago Blender only had quad polygons. Then one day, it started to support N-Gons. Then, why not support Hole-Gons now? Polygons with holes. With support for proper concave polygons(Currently the underlying triangles mess up the concave polygons).
This is mostly for architectural purposes. In fact SketchUp started with this basic theory. Allowing holes on polygon(which is called face). I know this sounds weird and might not be needed in most cases.
However as an architect, we need to put doors and windows on our building mesh. Of course we can add loop cuts for every door and window, but it makes the building mesh messy. Plus we cannot change the position of doors and windows unless we make a new loop cut.
Hole-gons, I wonder if this could happen...

For architectural projetcs, it is a quite regular situation.
Imagine. Having a window object which is at the same time:
So moving the window automatically moves the hole in the wall.
Maybe a new modifier could do that ? How this will work ?
I have been dreaming about this ever since Bmesh was a thing. Though, I already wrote a proposal on that: blender.community/c/rightclickselect/cxcbbc/
I think it's essential.
I see. I agree to all comments you made there.
Hi, I tried using boolean operation for making a building mesh. Eventually I encountered tens of modifiers on a single building mesh when I tried to put tens of windows on the wall. It's too many of them. Maybe allowing boolean modifier to use collections (not just objects) might do the trick.
