When creating a new Collection directly select it's name to rename it and scroll it into view
Each time we create a new collection it dissapears somewhere in the long list, we need to find it first, than rename it and only than can start using it. That's a lot of actions we each time need to do when we create a new collection.
I would propose the following:
When we add a new collection blender automatically makes it the active collection, scrolls that new collection into view so we can see it. It also automatically selects the renaming mode for that collection name so we can directly start typing its name. Because mostly we would like to give the new collection a name.
I think that would be way faster and efficient for something we use so often. And prevents the headaches of searching for newly created collections in long lists in the outliner.
Thanks for considering!

A side effect for this proposal is that the active collection will have to be the newly created one (in order to be renamed it needs to be active). But I am all for it, I don't see the point of creating a new collection without it being active.
Thanks for your response. I think that's even a plus (I've added it to the idea now), because when we create a new collection the plan normally is to start using it. This is also how many other graphical software works: when creating something new it's making the new thing active and activates a mode to give the new thing a name. I think it's very safe to assume people would like to focus on the newly added thing instead of first needing to activate it.
