Effect nodes for video sequencer elements
Allows you to get the view of any elements (or all elements that are below, if it is an adjustment element), and then apply effects as in compositing!

cool idea, but I fear this is a long way, lots of preparation need to be done to the vse first, but it should be a goal of the "everything nodes" project.
I've made a proposal for this that is very similar to yours here: devtalk.blender.org/t/proposal-using-compositor-nodes-on-vse-strips/21732 If you want i'd like to hear feedback on it. Note that some of the ideas in the original post have changed as they were discussed in the replies.
