Mesh Islands to Instances Geometry Node
A node that transform all the mesh islands to instances, if an object as just one island it would obviusly work exactly like the geometry to instance node, but with multiple islands it will create a new instance for every island.
Use cases:
-Mesh fracture, for example after have deleted vertices with a voronoi texture
-Reveal animations, combined with the split edges node

This is now possible with the "Split to Instances" node in 4.1.
Dear Hans, I tried to split mesh islands to instances today with the node you mention here. But there's no mesh island option in the node. Points, Edge, Face etc. but not mesh island. (which would be super useful)
What am I missing?
You have to connect the "Mesh Island" node to the "Group ID" input.
I'm not sure this would be so useful. Instances can improve performance when repeating identical geometry, but with mesh islands there's no guarantee any islands are identical. Therefore, a "new instance for every island" has no real performance benefit over using the plain geometry.
Also, it is already possible to make fracture and reveal animations using "Mesh Islands", "Capture Attribute" set to "Face", or "Collection Info" set to "Separate Children", among other methods.
MaxEdge has various examples of such techniques: youtube.com/channel/UCr14XGg6MNuQoHWR4VJqqJg/
It has already been suggested in this proposal blender.community/c/rightclickselect/368M/
