Have separate waveform display and waveform volume
In the Video sequencer, it would be nice to have a separate control for waveform display (like waveform scale for instance).
The problem I'm having is that the volume of my clip is way too loud, so i turn down the volume property of that clip to 0.1, but now i can't see my waveform and so i can't visually sync the movie to audio peaks. I workaround that by turning down the volume of my whole sound system, which is not ideal (ie i don't hear notifications for other programs like discord for instance, i need to readjust the pc volume constantly when switching from blender to another app --like the browser when watching yt videos and vice versa).

If you did not make a post about this wave display, I would not have found that out. I was wondering why my sound wave was not visible anymore and its linked to the Sound > Volume tab which I find very odd.
Note: actually i found that there is a general volume knob in blender (in Properties Editor > Scene > Audio > Volume), which actually solves my problem of having blender too loud in general, and not necessarily a clip in particular. That being said, i see an upvote on this feature, so maybe there is still a concrete use case for separate waveform display from the actual volume on a per-clip basis?
Also, this feature is actually very common in DAW softwares such as Cubase, Ableton and alike, they generally have this separation between the zoom at which the waveform is displayed and the actual volume on a per-clip level, so maybe it's not a bad idea if we really go deep into the sound/music design level.
