Multires support for vertex color

When you unsubdivide with multires, you destroy the vertex color. Artists should be able to do vertex painting the same as they do for vertex sculpting and have the changes ripple out to the other levels of subdivision.

Right now, the vertex color is only stored on the base mesh data, which is too low for painting even thoigh the surface is very high resolution.

The vertex color should be stored at every level of multiresolution subdivision. We shouldn’t have to apply the multires modifier just to be able to do detail vertex color painting in sculpt mode.

What's weird is that Transfer data should solve that issue (duplicate the mesh with vertex color, multires on the duplicate, it looses vertex color (which is insanely bad...), then you use Object > Link/Transfer Data > Transfer Mesh Data to transfer VCol information. Except that the option I see ( docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/scene_layout/object/editing/link_transfer/transfer_mesh_data.html ) in Blender 4.1 manual : Transfer Mesh Data > Face Corner Data > VCol. doesn't appear in that same menu on my 4.1 Blender version :/

yes please this is a must for proper texture painting using vertex color. Zbrush has had this version 2.5, almost 20 years ago, we should try and finish features in blender
