Array modifier should have a "Clipping" options.

So, long story short, I was working on a project and needed both the mirror and array modifier to have a good symmetrical motif on a sphere mesh.

However, when came time of adding more detail to my mesh (and due to my habit of working in non-destructive workflow as much as possible), I've experienced some issues with the edges of each iterations from the array modifier.

After zooming closer, I've realized that, unlike the mirror modifier, the array modifier doesn't have a clipping option. Verts were merged by distance, but the mesh wasn't "whole" for lack of better term. Capture d’écran 2023-11-15 113821.jpg

There is a merge option in the array modifier. Would you mind adding a screengrab of your problem to the thread ?

I bet OP is not looking for merging (of verts) but slicing and merging of shapes. So think array of semi-overlapping spheres, that would automatically be sliced together without overlapping and intersecting parts.
