Display viewpoint origin

After using blender for many years I held my first workshop. With different input-methods and such I found that; not being able to define the viewpoint cameras origin, was a thing that got people disoriented. (and still gets me disoriented some times) It may be a bad idea that just clutters the screen, but i would very much like to try having it. Could maybe be a good tool to have with a single key toggle shortcut? I feel stupid posting this and I feel like something like this must already exists, so please tell me, I could not find it. :)

Not sure if it's thing that you want but you can see viewport "focus point" if turn on one of options in ndof settings:

It will show up as blue dot.

That is so useful, why is it hidden in that location?

Yes, this is exactly what I am looking for, thank you so much. :) I think there is room for improvement here though, would be cool if it had options for navigational lines and such, similar to the 3d cursor.
