GOZ for Blender - ZBrush bridge

Hey guys, I think A ZBrush bridge for direct import/export to/from ZBrush should be a standard plugin what comes with Blender.

Now that a Redshift plugin for Blender is on the way and Maya becomes expensiver, I think many people would choose the ZBrush - Blender - then maybe Substance Painter pipeline, and if Blender really wants to be on board in the industry we must be sure that importing and exporting to the industry standard softvares is good and fast, because absolutely NOBODY does all the stuff in one program if it comes to professional work.

The plugins already exists, I found it here: bartoszstyperek.wordpress.com/2018/12/14/goz-for-blender-2-8/ IMHO it shoul be optimized and implemented in Blender.

Edit: This one is really good!

* @3rton93 * Awesome! That one works perfectly! Thanks!

yes this would be a great native feature to have but I will not count on it due to Blender's ambition as a competitive sculpting program.

* @remosande * Blender developers are smarter than that. Smart people don't want to compete with the industry standard. Smart people want to be on board and working together with the industry standards. This is the only way to become once an industry standard. This is my oppinion. Blender can not be compared with ZBrush. IMHO Blender is a wonderful piece of software, BUT an all in one software never will become industry standard. You can not be the best in all. You can do almost anything with Blender, but it is hard to integrate to a professional pipeline, with AfterEffects, Cinema4d, Maya, Substance. ZBrush. If you are lucky you find an add on, but the software itself can not do this. The other thing is that in Blender many things are overcomplicated, and take double or triple time than in the actual industry standard. I would never do in Blender: Baking, Uving, Retopo, Animation, Sculpting, becauseI can do these things in another program faster and better. I love the modelling and rendering workflow, but here again, Cycles is not compareable with Arnold or Redshift.

I believe that Blender will became better and better, and I love experimenting with it, but IMHO Blender developers should concentrate to 2-3 features instead of trying to do everything at once.

* @imremeszaros * I agree with you on this but if the devs think alike remains to be seen. Luckily we have a great, actively supported, add-on GoB which works pretty well. With all the attention Blender is getting for game-dev (especially once the performance increases and retopoflow releases) features like these will get more attention, if there is a demand they cannot ignore it.

I think this is more on Pixologic's side than on Blender's. If Pixologic wanted to add a bridge of their own they can do it. Blender is open and only the Bridge needs to be GPL. I am sure they know this, though. There probably is a reason why there isn't an official bridge, yet.
