UI: Keep distinct button boundaries in the toolbar

The recent changes introduced circular button containers with transparent backgrounds, which causes two problems.

  1. You can't see the toolbar against the viewport. The buttons blend into the scene geometry behind them, which made me accidentally unlock and move the camera instead of clicking in the 3D viewport because I couldn't tell the toolbar was there.
  2. Buttons lose individual distinction. In the old style each button read as a separate element with a clear boundary. In the new one they merge into an undifferentiated strip, making the toolbar harder to scan.

Old: old.png New: new.png Since this is still alpha, raising it early seems worthwhile before the style propagates further into the UI.

Request : undo the changes so that the buttons stay visually distinct.

Thanks for bringing this up during Alpha, it's always better to receive feedback during this period.

  1. The new colors are meant to deal better with different backgrounds and themes, if something is hard to read please report it as a bug so it can be fixed to look good in all situations. Maybe increasing the bar background opacity would suffice, or just reverting the logic altogether for now.
  2. This is by design. Those are all navigation controls, it makes sense for them to be together. It's less noisy visually to have a block of items than 4 individual items. The action zone and icons size is the same, hopefully it's just a matter of getting used to it.
