Reload and relocate linked collections

Issue: If you link a collection into your current scene from another blend file. Afterwards I change ie. the name of that collection. The link is then broken in the first blend file. There is a way to reload or relocate the reference to the .blend file itself through the Outliner>Blend file view. But there is no way to tell blender to use a different collection in the same blend file. If I try and reload or relocate the same file it still looks for a collections of the old name and is therefore still broken.

Solution proposal: An oprerator for relocating or reloading any linked collection. Could just be a general operator as it would also be useful to swap linked collections out with others.

Would be great to just have this option as a RMB menu item in the outliner

This still exists in 4.3. The obvious thing would be to think long and hard about what you name your collections but a solution to this feature request could be to assign collections ID's that aren't user edited but generated on creation so even if the name changes the link persists.

I definitely agree (even with the new Blender version now) that having a right click within the view layer for reloading or relocating would be beneficial since you have to currently go through the Blender file tab and it can be quite a scroll for a complex scene to reach the linked files at the bottom.

The problem seems still exist in 3.3

The same problem, if you rename the collection in the source file, then the link with it is lost, and blender does not give renaming the linked collection.

Agree. Collection between scenes must have option to reload like linked files.
