Vertex Color and Texture Node Outputs
I am into game Development and am since always having issues finding practical tools for color grading of textures and vertex colors (for them the situation is even worse). And no, baking is not the kind of jam I'm looking for.
As we are now able to tweak and mix the values of different maps and vertex color channels with graphs It would be also awesome to be able to OUTPUT them to a new channel / texture.
I found this old plugin (It is not to find anywhere) and the idea beneath it si amazing as flexible for every kind of intervention.

Since by 10.7.2019 Brecht answered in a bug report that also vertex colors should get an Input Node exactly as UVs do (comprehending the Color and Alpha parameter) I bet there could be the will to create new Output Nodes. [bug report] developer.blender.org/T58711

Some googling and i found this: github.com/andyp123/blender_vertex_color_master did you try it?
* @ Vyacheslav * yes but that's a completely other story, it's not as flexible as this one and is not meant to be a compositing / layering tool for colors but just a masking and aid tool for the painting tool itself - it does blending, but it's rudimentary compared to the tool the node system already contains.
It's useful for Vertex Colors in their technical purpose (eg. drawing alpha or isolating channels), but it's not strong for the artistic part. The author is aware of the plugin I posted here, we already talked about it on Blender Artist forums.
