NLA Strips/Clips editing feels inconsistent

The current ways to edit an NLA strip are rather counterintuitive:

Active Strip Frame start: pins the end frame of the strip while shifting the strat frame of the strip and the action within it in back and forth, great.

Active Strip Frame End: Pins the start frame of the strip while Scaling the action within it, completely unexpected considering what the ASFS just did.

Action Clip Frame Start: Does what I'd expect Action Strip frame End to do: pin the first frame of the strip while shifting the action inside of it.

Action Clip Frame End: Just extends the last frame of the Strip to add more space.

This also doesn't really help understand the difference between a clip and a strip. I'm guessing Clip is the action and the Strip is the container created when you push the action down. It also makes it confusing to explain the issue, lol.

Update: I had initially noted it would be nice to edit the strips like we do sequencer strips. That is possible, but instead of "K" to cut the strip at the cursor, in the NLA the hotkey is "Y" which is super useful.

I tried, numerous times, but gave up on NLA editor, it's the most unintuitive tool i have used in Blender so far. It's an unresponsive-clunky equivalent of '3DSmax Mixer'. Anything to improve the user friendliness is a step forward.
