Auto save textures (HandP) - tmp
Yesterday once again failed ~ 5 hours of work on the manual texture ... I simply did not save it as myself. The system looks very strange for a user, especially a beginner, when a program creates a texture, but at the same time it must be saved so that it remains in .blend, and must be done manually, many simply turn off during work and rely on CTRL + S I don’t know how to do this programmatically, I can't suggest anything, but maybe you can at least use it programmatically, I can't suggest anything, but maybe you can at least use it programmatically? Wasted labor due to a petty mistake is very painf

I think that it is not a bad decision, during which the program would remain the same, but a more literate approach, tolerant to the user, for example: The automatic suggestion to "save texture as" after creating a texture in blender, so the chance to forget the nuance of manually saving the texture will be minimal, it will also show the actual logic of the program. For example, at the moment for beginners such logical chains as "manual saving of texture", "fake user", "cleaning project files" are not clear. Still, this would not be a bad automation solution.
I have already posted a similar request. blender.community/c/rightclickselect/J6fbbc/
It's Blender's way to manage data-blocks that is messed up. It has this "user" principle, where any data-block that doesn't have a user will be wiped out on the next file open, unless it is a physical external data or is marked with a "fake user".

There has been requests and discussion about removing this auto-wipe entirely or at least make everything marked as fake-used by default, but none of this was heard so far.

Maybe it makes sense to enable the "fake user" option as standard for each created material, texture? And then cleaning unnecessary trash ... is also not an option
