3D Cursor Transform - Why can't we use Move, Rotate Tools/Gizmos?

Sometimes, I just want to move the 3D cursor along an axis slightly. We have the 3D cursor transform values in the Side/N Panel>View/3D Cursor ("View" still seems like a weird place for 3D Cursor to me...). Since we have those parameters available, surely we should just be able to cut to the chase and use the standard move and rotate methods like we do for any other transformation change in Blender.

My idea (as I've seen on another post: devtalk.blender.org/t/transform-the-3d-cursor-when-the-cursor-tool-is-active/7275/6 ) is that we select the 3D Cursor tool and we have the transform gizmo automatically show up. Right now, we click to drag the 3D cursor, but it's limited to view orientation and snapping, no precise movement. If we have the Move gizmo enabled, we can already click and drag inside the circle to do the same thing, so why not add the gizmo on top of the 3D cursor?

3D Cursor movement should be simple and intuitive. This lack of a transform gizmo seems unreasonable and unnecessary. But sometimes, a gizmo (that changes orientation) is crucial.

Thanks!

and align the axis with face, edge, vertex as in maya

And undo for 3d cursor movement!

all what you ask already been done in this addon for 2.7 - it remains that there would be a man who ported it under 2.8... wiki.blender.jp/Extensions:2.6/Py/Scripts/3D_interaction/Enhanced_3D_Cursor

* @Bo Shi * Here, people offer improvements to the blender, not a discussion of the addon. Many people already know about this addon.

* @xmaiter01 * addons not improve blender? Nice...

* @Bo Shi * Addon is a third-party program. We are talking about improving native functionality.

* @xmaiter01 * Merging functionalities in the master branch is a lengthy process that requires commitment from anyone who develops that module. The developer is then burdened with the responsibility of keeping that module up to date and bug free.

This defeats the entire purpose of right-click select. Since half of the posts here are just duplicates of requests older than several years in most cases, it is further proof that the developers do not give priority to requests presented here, no matter how easy they seem to implement.

Requests have been upvoted into hundreds and they still don't get implemented, no wonder why nobody bothers with this forum here.

This right here is more of a place to encourage the developers from the community to pick up workable tasks and share them back with the community. And Addons, contrary to your opinion are the best way to achieve that. Its just that your opinion to merge everything to the master branch as a native functionality does not hold up in reality, proven by this entire forum itself.

developer.blender.org/ is where the real conversation is held if you want to improve native Blender.

* @akshayxw69 * 100% agree. my addon is a noob one but it's working and without many bugs (that I know). and we can see now that there is a move origin feature integrated, very well done. seeing mine, you can compare and see there is still some missing points. like working with grease pencil or bones and everything which has an origin. and maybe in edit mode ^^.
telling it like this, or seeing it working is very different.
basically moving the cursor was the same that origin, 1 line different... I read a comment yesterday telling if it is a step less, let's integrate it. totally agree. I did an addon answering a request there about moving the origin... I have like the impression that People are jugging more about reputation that ideas, based on who tells what. with me you are not and won't be disappointed indeed... I did a proposition about having complementary information about autosave. dislikes, "I don't see the interest", "this is good enough like this". lol I deleted it 4 days ago. and the day after, I see it in blender today. I did another synthetic addon, very useful for modeling. this time I put it on blender today and not answering a request there, for those who think that addon don't have their place here. personally for me it's all about ideas and feasibility. and I always take time there to answer even incomplete tasks not well formulated as experimented people can do it. and I learn myself... One day in a tunnel in France a five years old girl solved a problem that hundred people around couldn't solve and it was very easy...and most important she was listened even if she was not a pro... maybe I'm this little girl in my soul. lol blender.community/c/today/jrdbbc/

* @Bo Shi * I saw your nice modeling job and I'm glad you see the interest of what I did. I did a new addon that can help too blender.community/c/today/jrdbbc/

don't know why this is not implemented yet... this is a huge deal when you work with (polygon/vertexes/edges) so that you change their gizmo location and orientation on the flay especially if the 3dcursor follows back the gizmo location when-for example, moving an edge, coming from c4d this function would be familiar...

En este sentido siempre me pregunte por que esta característica que si esta en 3d max no esta en blender de manera nativa puesto hace la vida se vuelve mas fácil, incluso el cursor 3d debería tener snap to vertex o similares. Apoyo la propuesta. / In this sense, I always asked myself why this feature that if it is in 3d max is not in blender natively since it makes life easier, even the 3d cursor should have snap to vertex or similar. I support the proposal.

It would be great!
