Toggle button to hide entire node system in compositor w/o disabling it. (Useful way of utilizing one window for backdrop view).

Hello guys. I would like to propose a feature that would allow users to hide the nodes in compositor without disabling it. Currently the only feature I am aware of is the use nodes button.

Thanks.

lsscpp

just click middle mouse button and slide the nodetree away :)
and if you have one key node selected, pressing numpad . brings the nodes back where you need! And at the same zoom level

@johnpdelacruz26 : Would this add-on fill your needs?

What would be the point to completely hide a node?

johnpdelacruz26 Author

* @Shimoon * The behaviour is slightly similar to use nodes button. The main difference is the hide node system button will hide the entire nodes and will make it easier to see the backdrop. This is a great way of utilizing one window instead of making another window to view the backdrop.

* @johnpdelacruz26 * I see, I would rather prefer something that hide the entire graph interactively (something like TAB or anything else that can be easily hit) instead of just the node.

Unless that is what you mean and I didnt understand it well :p

This already exists. Just press M on the node you want to hide Or if you meant minimizing the node, you can press H or Ctrl H

* @Alex M * By pressing M you mean to mute the nodes? What I am trying to propose is to hide the nodes completely in the compositor without disabling it at the same time.

The H hotkey doesnt hide it, it only minimizes the nodes.

* @johnpdelacruz26 * But if you would hide it completely, it would be problematic for the links between the nodes. To what will they be linked?

* @Alex M * The entire node system is what I am trying to imply. This is not a feature for hiding individual nodes.
