dyntopo support for multi res

traditionally we subdivide then apply the modifier then we use dyntopo or we just subdivide and apply the modifier in the end .

I suggest dyntopo support for multires because it will be one of the best thing ever to happen to blender scultping .

dyntopo doesn't work well on extremely low poly models so you have to subdivide but if you are able to subdivide and add more geometry at the same time it will save time immensely and shorten your workflow by alot .

being able to subdivide and add geometry at the same time would be great for creating high poly results without having go in and out of sculpt mode when sculpting high poly meshs causing lag .

trust me dyntopo support for multi res will be greatly beneficial to all types of sculptors and will increase output quality and if sculpt layers are added in the future for sculpting and sculpt vertex painting in the future blender can become a strong competitor in the sculpting industry to other software

Is this even mathematically possible. I was under the impression that multires only works with all-quad geometry. ... I think I read something earlier this year about an all-quad mode for dyntopo though... or was I dreaming that?

i don't think you were dreaming . tbh quad support for dyntopo will be immensely great but a quad remesher in sculpt mode will also be a great idea and remeshing brush that turns triangles into quads and vice versa

totally unrelated, but anytime you post a proposal I get a mild headache trying to read it. food for thought.

I'm not sure I get what issue the proposal is trying to solve. The only thing you mention is that it would get rid of the lag when switching object modes. Can you elaborate?

well what i meant to say was that being able to subdivided in sculpt mode instead of having to go back to object mode will shorten time plus blender lags when you switch modes when sculpting high poly meshs so being able to do work in one mode will kinda help
