Node Sockets As Vertices
Select an output socket and an input socket with the mouse as if they were vertices, and then press F to fill an edge (a node link). This would eliminate the need to drag links from one socket to another and be a big productivity boost.

Not sure how much of a boost it would be most of the time, considering click and dragging is basically one action, while selecting two sockets and pressing F is three. But it could be a nice addition. Useful when trying to link elements that are far away off-screen or to quickly link multiple sockets at once.
