Why not you know export it as a PNG or JPEG
Because an AI file is resolution independent.
I dont see why you cant just export a PNG as a PNG would do just fine
because it has more steps and files.
I dont think this is possible, Ai and PSD are native files for its own program, you cant open this anywhere else unless its adobe product. You need a neutral file like, SVG, or STL
Actually some programs like Cinema 4D open them just fine but they have special relationships with adobe. For example a slim version of C4D shipped with Adobe After Effects for years.
And people's subscription $$$ in paid software is likely going toward these 'special relationships'. I would rather live without them.
