Snap to orthogonal/midpoint/tangent position on target
I know these kind of snapping are more suitable within nurbs based software, especially the tangent one, but I think the orthogonal and midpoint positions would be very useful in precise modelling.
ALSO: Extruding vertices along the projection of the edges they belong to would be very nice.
Finally: Snapping to the intesection of edges projections would just be fantastic.

Yes we need more cad like snapping system , but the problem is that tools like moving rotting and scaling have poor use of snapping, normally you can choose a base point, not with blender...
@dodododorian: I felt the need of such snapping targets many times during modeling really. As for the Blur, if we can't choose a base point from where to start transforming, it'd be great having that possibility indeed.
@levitosio: I think they are working on it, a small team are making a plug-in right now, but the problem is that blender was never designed for precise modeling at the first place, there's a lot of work to achieve to get blender to a proper precise modeling workflow.. A complete rework of the snapping system is needed , and better and more coherent 2D line tools as well
@dodododorian: for example look at autocad for line editing, really simple, but make the work done , as well as autocad and sketchup for the snapping system, great as well
