Indicate that a vertex group contains no vertices.
I always forget to click the Assign button.
If the Group item had some kind of icon clearly showing it was empty, I'd be reminded that I need to click the Assign button.
It would also be great if the currently selected verts were automatically assigned to the group when the group was created.

{attachment Untitled-2png} I believe this would be the best integration of the feature. Icon makes sense + it does not clutter the UI.
Only thing I would think twice about is that with this implementation, it would make sense to have a third Icon to indicate 100% coverage vertex groups. Definitely not as useful, but makes sense for clarity.
* @rex_kungolos * Great idea!
An icon, or a different text color, or a different row color (the background) would each be an effective way to show at a glance whether a group was empty.
If we want to get nitty gritty we could even put the number of verts in a group as an actual number on the row but that might be a bit much.
good idea
Maybe it will be better just to mark empty vertex groups. In most cases vertex amount means nothing
I'm against auto assigning when creating a group.
* @gilbertorodrigues * Agreed. I only just now 30 seconds ago learned about pressing ctrl+g while in edit mode to create and auto-assign verts to a group.
Perhaps show in brackets the number of vertices in the group (Or nothing if empty) so you can always see new ones being added.
(Edit: Ah - Already suggested below)
bad idea
why?
