motionbuilder power in blender

In Autodesk motionbuilder you can copy chracter animation from one character to another. its not matter that target character is biger or smaler , or witch direction is.

the most power of motionbuilder , Called "STORY" that make you able to copy character animation ,split it, merge animation together, split it again , and work with character animation like adobe Premiere for eddition movie. as fast and easy that Premiere is.

check this link : youtube.com/watch

I hope that blender have this power in the future. I think first Step is uniqe character rig for all characters , Like in motionbuilder and maya 2012 and above . this is a big step .but make blender so powerfull.

To be actionable, this proposal needs quite a few gaps filled in. It's not sufficient to just say, "Make MotionBuilder for Blender." Detail the features you that you want and explain how you would like them to work (from the user's perspective) in Blender, using Blender's interface paradigms. Include mock-up images and sketches that illustrate this so other users and developers and see what you want.

This suggestion is similar to this: Animation Layers.

On the other hand, the NLA recently had some corrections that makes the animation strips mix correctly. I could give the NLA a chance, it's very practical for some cases. These are the corrections I know:

devtalk.blender.org/t/17-december-2018/4289

developer.blender.org/rBde1d3e5

Anyway I think they wanted to update it (maybe in a video by Pablo Vazquez). If anyone knows anything, it'd be great if you put it here.

Sorry if I'm away from your suggestion, I think NLA does more or less what you suggest (of course it could be improved) but I do not know "motionbuilder" and I do not know exactly the differences. Regards!

This is sort of possible using NLA strips. Also transferring animation is pretty easy in Blender, if your characters use rigs with similar naming conventions.
