What's the next leap in character animations in Blender?

Blender is already complete in this area, but what will the future of the industry be like and what should be the next steps?

To be honest I have been following this software called Cascadeur for a while. It features physics-based 3D character animations. And characters that adapt to poses because of AI. I believe that the Blender foundation could observe this new trend in animation techniques and try to bring them to Blender.

See Deep Mimic at Siggraph and Cascadeur:

I respectfully completely disagree with that. Blender lacks a LOT of animation tools, and those already there are for a fair part either incomplete, unfinished, unpolished, lack user-friendliness or enough performance for being used on decent-scale productions. If not all of that for some. Not even mentioning the features that are somewhat ok on themselves but are so far from their equivalent in other softwares it makes them harder to learn and use and without bringing any real benefit.

In other words, there is a LOT of groundwork to do before even thinking about extra features that are not even near to being required to do insane stuff.

The animation 2020 project is already handling -some- of these issues, though far from enough for me, yet it will already require so much work and time it's not worth trying to add more stuff to the list.

* @-L0Lock- * I did not know that. It is a pity that the software still has so many flaws in this very important area. The suggestion will then stay for the next few times that the project is opened then, right?

I want something like 'Character Animation Tools' (CAT) for 3dsMax youtu.be/CavWZIierns
