Drag and Drop Image-empty automatically centered on pivot

Just a little convenience thingy, nothing important but it would be handy if the drag-and-drop image-empty automatically centered on it's pivot when being placed. Just like the <i>Import images as planes</i> add-on does.

And while we're at it why not make it rotate towards the viewport. Since there is an easy <kbd>Alt</kbd> + <kbd>R</kbd> to reset it to default. But there is no align to view shortcut. It would save a lot of rotating effort if i could just go to the right viewside and drop in the image.
