knife tool cut with shapes and curves

Hello guys. I would like to propose a feature where instead of just using the knife tool for cutting straight lines, I believe it would also be nice to have some features where the user can use shape tools as a cutting tool.

The bezier curve function would also be a great addition. Creating complex shapes with help of these tools will make cutting into a plane much faster and easier. Right now from what I currently understand you can only achieve it mainly by knife project or the boolean function.

I hope we can add some knife tool functions similar to these ones.

Grease cut addon (GCUT does this I think?

One difference with these tools in comparison with knife project is that the shapes are placed on the plane and not floating outside it. I believe this function can make it easier to achieve the result you were aiming to much closer.

  1. You can align shape to surface easily by face snap + project.
  2. Shapes for Knife Project is separate object and it still exist after cut. Some " Knife Tool Shapess " will be only during cut action shapes and not existed no more after.
  3. BoxCutter addon already exist....

* @IIIFGIII * I get what you mean. One thing that I still think that would be nice for blender is to have those draw tools for shape that has some snapping features.
