Taper curve with an internal curve profile

Replace the Taper curve with an internal curve profile, instead of relying on a separate curve object that needs manual adjustment every single time. QQ20260902-202748.png QQ20260902-202825.png

I would use Geometry Nodes for this. You can add this set-up to your Curve Object: Image

The downside is that it's not possible yet to expose the Float Curve to the Properties Panel, so you have to adjust it in Geometry Nodetree.

I don't expect that the "Taper Float Curve" would be added to the Curve Object, as devs are slowly converting modifiers to Geometry Node modifiers. But I may be wrong.

Yes, what I mean is Blender should build this system natively into the curve panel, and integrate it with the existing Alt+S scaling for curve points, working just like how curve objects behave now. It would simply make these operations much faster right within the panel.

What is a "Taper" Curve though? I just see a default Bezier Curve Object there.

If that is so, then the following might be considered:

Indeed, that preset Curvature is often annoying on Workflows. But wouldn't it be easier to just have ANOTHER preset in the 3D Viewport Editor, on Object Mode then, for: Add → Curve → Bezier (Straight); in which that 'Start' Control Point has got its Handles with the same Alignment of the other, the 'End' Control Point?

Or even better, when Adding the Bezier Curve Object, the Adjust Last Operation Region would provide Curve Data-Block Properties to Edit, so we could instantly pick, between a few variety of Options, a Curvature preset for the Bezier, even adjust the amount of Control Points, the Angle of each of the Aligned Control Point's Handles, and even decide perhaps, Set Handle Type already for each set of Handles on the Control Points, per Control Point (harder), or generalized (easier).

Adjusting the scale at the start and end of a curve using curve profile is a very common operation across all 3D software. I wish Blender curves had this feature natively.
