Remember 3D Cursor Tool Settings

The 3D cursor tool allows the cursor to snap to view, geometry, transform, etc. However, when out of the tool, it always snaps to view.

I would like the tool's setting to be valid globally, so that setting the cursor with a click will snap the same way the tool does. I'd prefer to always snap to geometry using surface project.

I'm hoping to figure out how to do these sort of small changes myself, soon, but RCS is still a great way of seeing how popular the idea is. Thanks!

Edit > Preferences > Keymap > 3D View > 3D View > Global > Set 3D Cursor - You can change it here.

Im using allways 'Transform'. Here u can also add some own functions. E.g. with alt + left click im using 'Geometry' instead of 'Transform' and also change Transformation Orientation to '3D Cursor'. With standard left click im change back to 'Transform' and Transformation Orientation 'Global'. This makes it possible to work interactively very quickly.

* @cyso * Thanks, I had no idea this was a thing. It's probably trivial to use Python to set this automatically.

* @cyso * Wow thanks ! I was searching a post like this before doing mine to avoid duplicate, but i couldn't expect an immediate solution ! I must admit though that first, this option is not really well placed, and secondly, having it to mimic the tool setting would be better. But thanks :)
