Linked File Animation Offset Without Override
Feature Request: Linked File Animation Offset Without Override
When linking an animated file into another Blender file, it would be extremely useful to have the ability to adjust the linked object’s animation without requiring a library override.
Possible features could include:
Manually keyframing the animation time
Offsetting/shifting the animation as-is
Adjusting playback speed
Reasoning: In many cases, we want to use an entire file “as is” because it contains complex animations with multiple objects. These files are often reused across different projects in the exact same state. Having a way to offset or adjust the timing of the animation without creating overrides would be very practical and would keep the workflow efficient.
Additionally, linked files typically perform faster compared to linked files with overrides, so being able to keep them in their original linked state while still adjusting animation timing would provide significant performance benefits.

why not use the NLA ?
As I mentioned earlier, I don’t want to use a library override. Being able to keep my linked object as a single group makes it both more practical to manage and more performant to work with.
