Automatic Blender Update

Guys, its long overdue, we need an automatic update thingy, i dont want to update every time manually, and YES i dont want to get Steam on all machines with accounts etc. And there should be an automatic update for experimental and different branches too.

Im talking about windows and mac, linux is already done over package managers.

I would really like to see this. I have heard concern that this might create too much load on the servers, but it would probably be possible to use p2p or torrents to relieve this issue.

Duplicate and also already possible with Steam.

* @Josephbburg * Yes with Steam, i dont want Steam and the associated account, installing it and im not even talking about multiple machine deployment. But i wrote that above. Nearly every normal, proper software package nowadays has that. Just saying Steam is enough will not make it better.

I agree it's not enough - and I don't even want automatic updates (I build Blender from source when i want an updated build!). There's a Windows Store Blender also, but I think it's still 2.79. Anyways, I don't think it's impossible (Blender Cloud addon does some automatic web-connection stuff), but I don't think it's being worked on. Any thing that connects to the internet raises a privacy concern for some people -- which is also why I don't use Steam to keep Blender updated myself.
