Add a confirmation prompt to the delete shortcut on the modifier stack for UI consistency

When using the x shortcut in the 3D Viewport to delete an object, we get a confirmation prompt that says 'Ok?'. This is nice as it helps prevent users from accidentally deleting objects. In the new modifier stack, there is no such prompt - when hovering over a modifier and pressing x Blender deletes it right away. It's speedy, but brings some risk with it as well, in my opinion.

In addition, holding down the x button will keep removing the modifiers that move up into the slot of the one you deleted first. I've had it happen (mainly on large/laggy projects) where I held the x button for too long, expecting that prompt to show up. I'd have deleted multiple modifiers before realizing what was going on.

I'd love to see consistency between the two x shortcuts by having the prompt added to the modifier stack. (Perhaps with an option to disable it in the settings? Just so people who prefer the speed of the current settings can still enjoy the benefit that brings.)

In the screenshot, I've also added an outline to the modifier that's being affected, just to make it clear what the user is agreeing to.

I think with Undo beeing much faster now, it should be discussed if that confirmation dialog can be disabled globally. i already have it off in object mode, and never felt like it caused me to loose anything in my scene.

Edit: My bad, i thought your proposal was going the other way around. But while i think this popup should'nt be the default, it would absolutely make sense to have the option to enable it for modifiers as well.

* @Thane5 * That'd be a good discussion to have, as well! My main issue is regarding the consistency aspect, where elements respond differently to the same input. Having said that, my experience is definitely less ideal than what you describe, even with the improved undo.
