Allow Any Bone direction Axis.
Currently, blender forces the axis that follows the direction of the bones to be the Y-axis, this creates a big lack of flexibility in the Rigging process and also breaks the flow of skeletons imported into blender that came from or reference other software such as Unreal/Mixamo/etc. Also, making it a pain to create rig controls that work properly on top of them.
I know that It has been stated before by people of the Blender Foundation the intention of allowing users to choose whichever axis they want for this direction, but not knowing the state of this development (or even if It's more than an intention at this point in time). I'd like to express my utmost desire in favour of this, and how necessary such a feature is.
Since the Community is bound to be closed, I'm not sure as to where should I go to give this idea a thumbs up so I'm doing this via this post.
It'll fix many many problems and headaches importing rigs, working on premade skeletons for studio workflow and allow for better flexibility and decision making when creating a new rig, specially when we have to use an established model as a base as well as working upon pre-made imported animations.
Thanks a lot, Arthur.
