Sun Texture with value inputs

Simple, add input for values in the Sun Texture.

For example, I like to use two suns which are slightly offset by a few degrees and rotation. If I could just control the value of one sun and the other would follow by some offset using math nodes it would save so much time and stress when tweaking light.

I'm sure that other people would find different uses for these inputs.

I agree this does make sense. For now, maybe you can use drivers?

99% of my attepts at using drivers have broken when I tried to append or link the asset to another file. They've been quite useless for me over the last 6 years.

True. While drivers do work, if you append them in another scene, it will also append the data targeted by the driver instead of "retargetting" the driver to the data you have.

I.E. I can make this node group drive the sky texture inside:

But when appended it in another file and add it to my then new world, it appends the original world shader in which the original node was, and uses that as driver value instead of the new group node in my new world.
