Make autosave preferences work as soon as you make a change

I notice whenever I have autosave preferences enabled and I install an add on if when testing the new add on my blender file ends up not responding and I have to end task in task manager I have to end up reinstalling the add on.... if in that same scenario I were to have clicked save preferences after I installed the add on I wouldn't haven't had to reinstall the add on. My feature request is to make it's so as soon as you make any change in preferences auto save preferences works instantly so I don't have to ever worry about clicking save preferences on my own
