Crowd simulation

New simulation to simulate multiple people/character moving, fighting, attacking, crowding, and lots of random activity. This helps animators save time to animate multiple characters/people doing certain random activities. Examples such as making many people fight 1 on 1 at the same time. Or like many people who run away but many of them fall.

The idea is, We have a character model that has been riged with the same rig system (has the same bone name and the same rig way of working). Then we have the various action animation data (action animation characters walking, ideas, sitting, fight, run and other.). So there is a simulation that works by randomizing and animating the various character models using existing action data based on conditions. If the character models walk closer to each other, then they use the "walking" data action animation until the two character models meet, then they will use the "fight" data action animation.

TL;DR A crowd simulation system.

blendcreator

What does "TL;DR" mean?

Lauloque

"Too Long Didn't Read"
Sometimes a way to say "to summarize" before writing a short version of something longer, sometimes a way to tell people they wrote way too many things that could have been simpler. Sometimes both at once.

blendcreator

Will there be such a thing?

After a quick search on developer.blender.org ; there doesn't seem to be any mention of a crowd system. So I guess it isn't part of the scope of the BF as of today.

That being said, there are ways to make crowds in vanilla Blender using particles systems, and there are addons too.
A little search does show some results: ecosia.org/search
