How about nested menus?

It's bad enough that we have to remember a W key. I've been using blender for years and I just found out about this today (how about make space key or right click the menu). Then we have to remember which modification of the key does what (shift W and A and tons and tons of different menus). Maybe someone could take the time to categorise the menus into sub menus so that they can be nested all under one shortcut? Possible have the menus content/task aware so there are less cluttered and infinitely more helpful?

Been thinking about this as well, and possible fixes. Still working on a proposal that makes sense for Blender.

What the image you attached makes me think though, is that we really need better names for the shortcuts within the Input preferences. Seeing "Call menu" and "Call Pie Menu" tells me nothing useful.

That's thinking like a developer, not a user.

It should tell me what menu it's calling, right in the label. I shouldn't have to toggle open each entry and try to determine exactly which menu or pie menu is being called based on it's python function name.

hi, dynamic spacebar addon has most common tools & menus wrapped in 1 addon/hotkey since blender 2.78, it's worth a go coupled with the 3d view pie menus also from 2.78

Perhaps you should look into the pie menu add-on.

It's activated for me and it should be by default like in maya (because they have professional UI designers).

Plus It's like they abandoned the whole easily accessible menu thing. How about making a pop up menu that changes depending on what you right click on like in Andrew Prices UI proposal.
