3ds Max CAT rig system features
We're seriously considering to switch to Blender at the game studio here in Amsterdam where I work. But one of the things that has kept us so far is that Blender's rig system is not yet as feature complete as for example 3ds Max' CAT system. In my mind these features would make Blender a contender:
- Modular setup (i.e. pelvis, spine, leg, arm, head, tail) so all types of rigs can be setup quickly
- Saving a rig as a template
- Saving/loading animation clips onto rigs
- Automated motion/walkcycles which can be adjusted, like CATMotion
I know this is quite a lot, but hopefully it gives some insight into the wants of current 3ds Max users in order to switch to Blender. Especially since Autodesk has chosen not to update their CAT system for some years now.

If someone create a CAT like in Blender, half of the animation prods on 3DS would switch to blender :')
This is a big proposal that's composed of a number of smaller components. It would be best if you would separate this into multiple proposals for each individual feature you would like to see implemented in Blender. Please include mock-ups that show how you would expect it to work in Blender . It's not sufficient to point to a feature in another application and say "make it like this".
Proposals on this site are, in a way, asking other people to invest a lot of time and effort into developing your idea for you. At the very least, we can put an equal amount of effort into making our proposals a specific and actionable as possible.
you can export fbx animations from Cat into AutoRIG pro

It can be so, that blender have something like that or different pipeline, that is nice too. Ask BlenderStudio guys, what they use and how. I am sure, they use addons for automation.
CAT made rigging in 3ds max acceptable. I too would like a CAT style rig. The closest thing I use right now is Auto Rig Pro.
