A denoising algorithm that only targets fireflies.
There are a lot of old scenes where people went to great effort to remove fireflies. One scene I just looked at is practically noise free except for exactly 4 pixels that are near pure white fireflies. A "remove fireflies" denoiser would be a nice thing to have.

I think the new pathguiding feature of upcoming cycles versions will help to reduce fireflies wuite a bit
