Multiple Hierarchical Selections

2.90 is released and there's still a highly crucial feature missing in Blender and that is the ability to select multiple hierarchies from both within the interface (Select Menu) and especially from within the Outliner. The user should be able to make multiple selections and upon giving the appropriate command those objects and their hierarchies should be selected. I had 32 objects in my scene with each having their own children and I simply suffered selecting them one after the other with their children!!! How hard can something like this be to implement?

In outliner click and drag the triangle icon column to collapse all sub-lists so you only see all 32 parents.

click the first parent, shift+click the last parent to select all parents

put your mouse over the 3d viewport and press shift + ] to add all children of all currently selected items to the selection.
