Object/Collection opacity in solid view just like photoshop layers
This week I worked hard on an architectral model and had the opportunity to test the 2.8 rcs. While many things are good and all I still feel like Blender lacks some basic features. So often I needed to view some objects in a full opacity fashion, while others in a more subtle way. In 2.79 this was possible through materials, but in 2.8 it is impossible in solid view. Also it'd be great to decide which object to see in xray and which one not.

For my own benefit at least, could you be a little bit more clear about what specific thing you're proposing? Is it that you would like to have material transparency in Solid view or is it that you want a slider somewhere (where, specifically?) where you can adjust the opacity of every object in a collection while in Solid view? If it's the latter, how do you suggest handling the case where objects are in multiple collections?
* @Jason van Gumster * Yeah, it's the second case. A slider just aside, close to visibility icons would be great. In case of a same object being in multiple collections maybe another checkbox would be needed to decide if transparency value has to be applyied to that only "instace" or to everyone.
* @levitosio * OK. I could see that working pretty well for instances.
Where would the slider be? In the Outliner?
* @Jason van Gumster * I suppose yes, at least I see those in there. Outliner is getting pretty handy and I think this would a nice touch.
* @levitosio * Probably would be best if you made a mock-up that shows how this might look.
* @Jason van Gumster * Thanks, I'm gonna do this.
