Efficient Viscoelastic Fluid Simulation

It would be really cool to have this new research adapted to the fluids engine inside Blender.

This could be an integration to the existing fluid system, with this new algorithm, we can do fluid simulations with viscosity and density better simulated, with a simulation that would require a shorter time and with higher quality, for more clarification I suggest you to give a look at the video below, In the video you can see better than I could explain.

Here is an article about an "Adaptive Variational Finite Difference Framework for Efficient Symmetric Octree Viscosity".

That is crazy, the performance is crazy. This is the kind of stuff that is of course rarely needed but when it is needed it needs to be perfect and quick.

It would be so great to have this kind of fluids sim in blender ! Performance indicated in this video with those kind of results are really Amazing !

If you could at least try to explain what these types of fluids are (just guessing: better high-viscosity fluids?), that would do a better job of making folks want to watch the video and read the paper for more. As it stands, there's not a lot to entice folks. Would this be a configurable option in Blenders existing fluids? is it a new fluid type that requires its own separate interface in Blender? What does it do that the current fluid system doesn't? Just a few of these details would be enough to be a good lure.

@Jason van Gumster: Thanks for the advice, I will try to expand the proposal.
