Render thumbnail preview as blend file icon

I would LOOOOOOVE to be able to nominate a render slot image as the Blend file icon thumbnail when browsing folders full of them in the Mac Finder window so I get some reminder of just what the model looks like when browsing...

Thumbnails should already be auto-generated for .blend files. Are they not for you?
