Hide/unhide selection only.

I noticed there's no option to unhide your selection, while there is an option to unhide everything. This makes little sense imo, why is there no "unhide selection" option? CTRL+H would work great for this, maybe alt+click in the outliner could also work a charm.

I guess he means an option just to unhide the last hidded, would be a quicker than a search in the collection.

From the perspective of the 3D Viewport, if it's hidden, then it's not selected (or selectable). With that in mind, then there's no way to unhide a selection (since you can't select hidden things).

mmh in the outliner you can just click the eye icon, that does the same as you are suggesting no?

* @Sam * yeah, but you're not going to click every eye icon. and click dragging over them isn't enough when you have a thousand objects.

* @Julien * * @Sam * Maybe there should be an option for AUTO SCROL MODE to selected object in the outliner? It should be easier to find a hidden object since every thing you select shows up on the list. - It would work like this:

1 OPTION - You select an object in the 3d viewport and then outliner automatically scrolls though the list to this object. When you hide an object its no problem to find it cause the outliner autoscroled to it and you have it on the list.

  1. OPTION Maybe "autoscroll mode" should have options to work for:

a) All the objects - if you don't care that outliner list changes everytime you select something in the viewport;

b) have an option to autoscroll only when you treat an object object by Shift +H.

If you still want to have an outliner that doesn't scroll to selected object, you could use this option in a separate outliner and the other one with this mode turned off would stay as it was. {attachment outliner_1PNG}

c) Maybe autoscrolling mode would have an option to work when pressing Ctrl+Shift+H or Shift+H+right click.

Now in 2.80 you can do it by selecting an object in 3D viewport then moving mouse over outliner and pressing a dot. ".". But still you have to remember to do it before you hide an object in the viewport. Otherwise its impossible to find it - its hidden - means nonselectable.

You can do something similar by opening a second outliner window and choosing search by selected objects. You have to deselect some additional options like Collections - just to have your object at the top of the search list. The problem is when you hide an object in the viewport it allso disapears in the search results of the outliner. {attachment outliner_2PNG}
