Visual Warning for Invalid Node Connections
Currently in Blender, when users try to connect incompatible node types—such as linking a Color output to a Vector input—there’s no visual indication that the connection is invalid. This often leads to unexpected results, errors, and wasted time during troubleshooting, especially for beginners.
I suggest the following improvements:
🔴 Display a red or dashed line between nodes when the connection is invalid
💬 Show a tooltip warning: “Incompatible data types. Connection ignored.”
🧠 Highlight nodes during rendering if NaN, Null, or unexpected values are detected
Benefits:
Easier debugging and smoother workflow
More intuitive learning curve for new users
Improved transparency in complex node setups
This feature would make Blender’s powerful node system even more accessible and efficient. Please consider this enhancement for future releases!

We already have quite a visible warning and hinting, when you do an actually invalid connection:
its totally valid connection
Color and vector is same data, difference is only in UI and intended use. It might be invalid and in beginners case, but its not always invalid. So there should be way to discard warnings.
Another cases where there should be "warning":
Overly warning for cases that "may" be unwanted but are ultimately totally fine is at the very least an annoyance and can also lead to stealing attention from genuine issues.
