Quality of life features in weight-painting.

  • A Fill bucket. Been using the gradient tool for this, but feels hackish and might still miss some verts.
  • Still very difficult/hidden to show a visual representations of the bones under the painted weights.
  • Ability to multiselect vertex groups to assign the weights. Sometimes I like to assign 0 weights to not all of the vertex groups which we have in the dropdown menu.
  • Simplier way to mirror weight paints in all vertex grps.
  • only the paint weight brush respects mirroring when painting but not using gradient or applying it fully through the vertex group inspector.

Ganna add a peak of my pipeline wondering if I'm not crazy to see there are options for this, but none for my situations.

  • I want to focus painting on one side, and if I have to mirror, I have to duplicate the vertex grp, call it the same name and replace the suffix from'.l' to '.r', and delete the old target. And when I've tons of repainted weights, it's manually taxing.
  • I've a shirt that is a shared mesh with other clothes. I wish to select those vertex and transfer weights from the main body, but it doesn't seem to have an option for the selections like a mask. And doing transfer weights thru modifiers doesn't work.

There is a fill bucket, but it is not a tool icon, it is an operator

Weights -> Set Weight (or ctrl + x)

Could you add to your proposal the ability for the gradient tool to work on mirror?
