Remember UI Window Position/Size/contained panels
Not sure I need to say more, but read on if you have no idea what I'm talking about (yeah right).
I don't know if people are used to it or don't care, but it's one of those things I noticed two years ago when I moved to blender. I wondered why none (NONE) of the UI windows ever remembered their size, position, or other internal parts/panels. So I guess you could say I ignored it because of all the other shiny stuff.
Well, I've seen all the shiny stuff now, and the lack of remembering window position is now bothering the crap out of me. I watch vids/tuts and see everyone open the prefs, move the window, make it larger, adjust a panel inside... and then do it again like 5 more times throughout the video like it's no big deal.
My goodness, guys!!!
Resizing folder/history panels, resizing the window itself, the position of the window, it's just one after the other of repositioning things Every Single Time.
It seems like UI/UX 101 for such an involved software.
So, can we please upvote this terrible oversight.
The prefs window comes up in the same spot at the same size every time. Soooo, they're telling it something specific SOMEwhere. Now just tell it to remember where I put it and always show up there at that size, too. Especially, when choosing images, holy moly. Same dinky small window that I have to maximize each time...
I also just saw the font size doesn't stick in UI windows either. This is a straight-up nightmare.
sigh, ok I'll stop, you get the point.
Thanks!

Totally agree here. For UX this would be very beneficial.
Another thing talking about remembering positions: Scroll positions. Take settings for example, each page should have it's own scroll remembering, but right now, when you scroll inside one page and switch to another one, the other page is at the exact same position as the one before. This is really annoying. Scrolled down for a setting? Want to search for an addon next in a new page? Nope...have to first scroll up...
Yes, agreed. It would also be a dream to have it scroll to the image last selected if you click on a image node. Just all kinds of QOL things missing for quickly moving through the interfaces.
and reorganising the tabs by click dragging having to send them to front and back and plug around trying to figure out what you want only to forget to save the start up file. (which will make window settings be remembered by the way), and load back up to it completely reverted frustrates the hell out of me.
Preach! But I'm not really joking. How about THIS. Drag n-panel tabs however you want AND be able double-click to rename whether the add-on provides the option or not. Mind. Blown. And the Chip Walter free add-on Simple Tabs is so broken and basically useless now. Even though it's an awesome thought, they aren't updating it.
